One of the largest indigenous markets in the country is located in the city of Otavalo, in the province of Imbabura, known as “Plaza de Ponchos”. This is a colorful and fantastic place where you can find countless crafts, mostly marketed by the Kichwa population of the province. Some of its products include ponchos, scarves, embroidered blouses, pants, cushions, alpaca wool fabrics, sheep wool fabrics, tapestries, gloves, hats, musical instruments and much more. This fair takes place every day, but its peak and busiest days are Wednesdays and Saturdays. This is, without a doubt, a must-see destination in Ecuador, be sure to visit it.
